Newly crowned Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina has revealed that her planned
Bonus from the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation will be donated to the country's junior tennis
program after her first Grand Slam triumph. Rybakina was able to defeat Ons Jabeur in three sets in last weekend's final
at the All England Club to win the prestigious trophy for the first time.
She also defeated Simona Halep
on her way to the main prize at SW19, which also earned her a lucrative £2 million prize money plus a bonus from the Kazakh governing body.
Rybakina has already stressed after a recent visit to the shelter her desire to use the latter payment to help those in need,
with most of it going to her country's junior program and the rest to animal charities.
"First of all, of course,
I would like to help the junior girls, it will go to them the most," she told the Astana Times when asked what she will spend her prize money on.
