The American won his first trophy on the Saudi-backed circuit after seeing off Peter Uihlein in a play-off for the LIV Golf Invitational trophy in the final.

The four-time major champion beat his Smash GC teammate on the third playoff hole after a birdie on the 18th left him at 12 under in Saudi Arabia.

As the night drew to a close, Koepka sealed the win and claimed his first trophy since winning the Waste Management Phoenix Open in February 2021.

It was also his biggest payday as he claimed the first prize of £3.6m and a further £670,000 for his part in his team's triumph. While many were happy to see the 32-year-old winner big,
