David Lingmerth wins the Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship on the last hole Paul Haley II chased down David Lingmerth during the final round

Carl Yuan, who had led since the Chitimacha Louisiana Open in March, dropped to second in the rankings after Haley's eagle on the par-four seventh hole.

His 175-yard shot to end the third round of July's Memorial Health Championship helped him to his first Korn Ferry victory since 2012.

He carded a 7-under-par 64 to tie the tournament record. Haley, 34, has only held a PGA Tour card twice in his career, including the one he secured this season.

The last time it had tour status was in 2013, almost ten years ago. One of Haley's Sunday playing partners,

Nick Hardy, was a senior in high school when Haley was last on tour. “I've played a lot of good golf all year, I really have,” Haley said. “It was really great to have a good ending.
