World No. 3 Cameron Smith leads by three on Sunday at LIV ChicagoCameron Smith made his LIV Golf debut in Boston a few weeks ago and tied for fourth.
He is 18 holes from winning his first event at the Saudi-backed circuit outside Chicago at Rich Harvest Farms.
The Australian's only bogey of the day came on the par-5 11th, but five birdies scattered throughout the rest of his card saw him post
a second-round 4-under 68 after opening the tournament with a 66. He is 10 under and leads by three.Smith's last worldwide victory came at the 150th Open Championship.
He is three shots behind Dustin Johnson, who stumbled to a 74 after shooting a 9-under 63 in the first round on Friday.
A bogey on No. 3 and a double on No. 4 put him behind the eight ball and he didn't do enough to make up for lost strokes.
If Johnson comes from behind to win Sunday, he will be the first multiple winners of the LIV Golf Series.
Laurie Canter and Charl Schwartzel are tied for fourth at 6 under. Peter Uihlein is tied with Johnson at 7 under.
