We need Dreams,
Dreams are important. Not the dreams you have when you are asleep. I am talking about the dreams you have for your future – dreams save you – dreams that make each day worth living.
Dreams Are Not Enough
As important as dreams, they are not enough. Why? Dreams do not take you where you want to go. A dream needs wings – to be caught vision – the passion of the morning where you really want to be.
Bethany Hamilton lives in Hawaii – her love swells – her dream to be a trained professional. You are using every available minute in the water, even studying at home to have more time to follow his view. At the age of eight, she entered her first major competition taking part in competitions that year. Bethany’s dream had come true: his love – a practical vision.
When Your Vision Is Attacked
Bethany’s vision was brutally attacked on the morning of Halloween, 2003 when he was 13 years old. Bethany was lying on her board – her left arm hanging in cool water.
He remembers the gray light, the pressure, and a few quick pulls. He also remembers looking at the 15-foot-long [15 m] shark jaws covering the surface of his board and his left arm. The shark was gone as soon as it appeared. So did his arm.
What You Need to Make Your Vision Live
Friends who think fast and have surgery saved Bethany’s life. Everyone -including Bethany – she believes her death days are over. But within a week his vision has returned – he rejects fear and thoughts of defeat.
Within 30 days Bethany was attacked and returned to the water. Her family and friends were there to entertain him. His first attempt was to fail. He struggled to push himself up one arm and keep his balance. Her fear that her dream will die in the water that day – the shark has won after all. Bethany pressed down in panic, he gritted his teeth and kept trying. And it happened.
Tears streamed down her face – the crowd cheered – she grabbed him first when waves boarded.
Dream Takes A Wing
Just months after the brutal attack, Bethany shocked thousands with an unimaginable achievement – taking 5th in the 2004 National Scholastic Surfing Association Nationals Championships. In September he struck and, by winning the Open Women’s Division of the NSSA Hawaii conference opening season. After the final entry of the National Surfing.
The Bethany Championships has secured a place in the USA National Surfing team.
He has truly conquered his fears!
