We certainly do not want to ignore, avoid or suppress our emotions. Instead, we should acknowledge the feeling and give it the attention it needs. Emotions are like children, when they start to do something, ignoring them is the worst thing you can do. Try to pay attention to the message and the emotion you are trying to tell us. Finally, continue to respond to the emotional message in the best possible way.

In other words, do not treat your feelings like an enemy, but treat them as a messenger. A messenger may bring good or bad news, but that is what we are doing, just informing you of good or bad news. Emotions are not your source.

Here are the steps to manage and control your emotions;

  1. Break up the relationship

When you experience strong emotions, do not dwell on them. Once you know the emotion, get rid of it quickly and separate yourself from the emotion. That means being like an outside team watching what is happening. Like watching a movie when you are the main character.

The important thing is to do it quickly, otherwise, the emotion will take a toll and be strong.

Another way to break a pattern is to amaze your brain by doing, saying, or imagining something completely unexpected, unrelated to the mysterious. This soothes the mind that it loses its emotional balance. Emotional pressure will be removed.

  1. Be curious about the emotional message

Now that you have separated yourself from your emotions, you can take a good look at what is happening because you are now in a state of complete neutrality. Be aware of your mood and emotions. Ask yourself questions such as;

What just happened?

What feelings did I have?

Why did I feel that way?

Do not make it personal. Just have a natural curiosity about it. Ask those questions with a curious and inquisitive voice. This helps to keep you in good shape.

Going through those questions in a neutral way will help you get the message behind the emotion and why you feel it. You will know why you feel that way, and what you want instead. If you are not in a good mood, when you are emotionally drained, you will not be able to see the root of the problem successfully.

  1. Decide what to do about it

Finally, decide what action to take and how to respond. What is the best way to react to this? What do you have to do, communicate or think to get what you want? Remember, sometimes all you need is a change in attitude and attitude.

As long as you are still emotionally divided, your decision will usually be right. By examining the situation objectively, you will come to realize the solutions you came up with our goals.
