Paying Telecommuting Writing Jobs Online
As a freelance writer, you probably spend hours scanning free worksheets looking for telephone writing jobs – in other words, freelance writing jobs you can do at home. With so many websites listing free gigs during their pay-per-job postings, it can take an hour or more each day to get worse. Not to mention, just because a job is listed as a freelance job does not mean that you can do it at home. Many job posters are looking for independent writers who will come to their places of business and do writing work on site. For those of us who are freelance writers who sell telephony, this only makes it possible for us to search our works.
My search for daily freelance writing jobs on the free worksheets consists of the following:
I upgrade Indeed dot com and include more search groups, such as “freelance writer” and “author” “telecommute” – there are at least a dozen key groups I’m looking for after this, but you get an idea. After that, I move on to JournalismJobs dot com, WritJobsdot com, and even Online-Writing-Jobs dot com. Then came Craigslist, with its awesome wade traversing lakes of a free gig, gig-only ad revenue, and gig listing “TBD” on the pay line. After much practice, I have clarified my job search program down through the hour process. Of course, this is just a search term and does not include time spent searching for ads, pasting resume/writing samples, etc.
As seems to be the norm in the world of independent writing, most job posters did not respond. A few who seem interested may seek tracking information and disappear from the face of the earth, often because they find my prices, not within their $ 3 of the article budget. Let’s face it – the process of applying for telecommunications jobs on free job boards can be frustrating.
So, what are some ways to look for telecommuting writing jobs on free job boards? Pay a membership fee to sites like GoFreelance dot com or JustMarkets dot com. Or, go with job bid sites like Elance dot com or Writerlance dot com. However, what about people who cannot afford to pay? Chances are, if you are just starting out, your budget will not allow for the cost of such luxury. While membership sites may be considered legal deductions for tax purposes (depending on where you live), the fact is that the money will come out of your pocket first, even if you deduct the cost from your tax later.
Of course, there are traditional ways to get freelance writing services, such as creating a website to advertise your private writing services and visiting work sites that allow you to submit your freelance writing for free. Posting private writing forums and networking with other writers can help you find clients. Starting a blog is one way many freelance writers get to be seen. Paying for individual payment ads and even writing articles to be sent to free guides can also help. However, with the proliferation of freelance writers, many jobs are still emerging from taking the time to search for telecommuting online writing jobs.
Unfortunately, there is no way to get telecommuting writing jobs that will take time or money. However, by getting into the normal job search process and using bookmarks and job feeds to your advantage, you can speed up the process and make things less frustrating.
